TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE
The present members of the Ferrel family of Wellington, continues to serve the Loyal Orange Institution in all levels as started by their late mother Wor. Sister M.A. Ferrel when she joined Ladies Lodge No. 35 in October 1921.
Four of the youngest members to date – Charles 69 yrs.; Lou 68yrs; Keith 64 yrs. and Mary 64 yrs, totaling 265 years.
During this time of service it has been given at all levels and achieved top positions – Charles Imperial Grand Master, New Zealand Grand Master, District Master of Wellington, Worshipful Master in Primary, Intermediate and Junior Lodges, Grand and District Superintendent of Junior Lodges; Editor of Orange News since 1984. Lou as Worshipful Mistress in Primary, Intermediate and Junior Lodges; Keith as Worthy Master of Intermediate and Junior Lodges and Mary Grand Organist, Worshipful District Mistress and in Primary, Intermediate and Junior Lodges. Charles and Keith have given very long service as members of the Public Relations and Public Questions Committee of Grand Lodge.
Each is still very active in their Lodge Onward or Matarangi. The younger generations are following on in the Lodges and are very active in their service.
